Volunteer Engagement Committee Second Reading

Please find included in this email our Volunteer Engagement Committee report for our second reading. We will be voting this report this coming Saturday in both our worship services. We thank those who have committed their service for the next 2 years as well as the Committee for their exceptional job under extraordinary circumstances for a job well done.

Don't Forget the Christmas Vaccine!

When I was a sixth-grader at John Nevins Andrews Elementary School in Tacoma Park, Maryland, I can still remember traveling with my parents to a distribution point, where medical personnel was giving all of us small sugar cubes containing the polio vaccine. Subsequently, I never contracted polio, and the disease has essentially been eradicated in this country.

Giving Online

Thank you for giving purposefully, faithfully, and joyfully! If you have been giving on Adventist Giving Online, please help us by creating and then signing in to your account each time you give. It helps us better when you sign to give in rather than when you give as a guest.

We appreciate your gifts and thank you for your faithfulness.

Neighbor to Neighbor Helps

At Neighbor to Neighbor, we've had a whirlwind year. Our brand new Thrift Store enjoyed a successful opening at the beginning of November, thanks to our dedicated volunteers and wonderful patrons. Sunday, November 22nd, was poised to be our grand dedication service. Restrictions on indoor gatherings had just been issued, so sadly the event was not as grand as initially anticipated.

A Note From Pioneer's Serviceperson's Coordinator

Armed Forces Day is a National holiday to thank the men and women of the 5 branches United States Armed Forces. First conceived by President Harry S. Truman, the holiday was established in 1949 due to the recent unification of all military branches under the Department of Defense. Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of every May, this year falling on May 15. We ask that you pass along our Church's greetings to any Service People in your family and offer special prayer that God will "give His angels charge over (them) to keep them in all (their) ways" (Ps 91:11).

Greetings Ladies,

Here we are, at another Christmas season. However, this 2020 Christmas is not like any other Christmas before. Did you notice that the lights and decorations are going up earlier this year? It seems that many people are tired of the gloom and discouragement this pandemic has caused.

Earliteen and Youth Sabbath Schools Go Digital

A Pandemic Thanksgiving—Are You Serious!

Somewhere in the Bible, it is commanded, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Does that include the pandemic that pins this planet and nation down this Thanksgiving?

As far as I can tell, the command does not indicate an exclusion clause. Though let's be quick to recognize this is not a command to “give thanks for all circumstances”—it is a command to “give thanks in all circumstances.”

Feed the Need

Update: We invite you to take part in Feed the Need, Pioneer’s annual food collection coordinated by our Evergreen Pathfinder Club. Please bring non-perishable food to church on Sabbath, November 20 through the main blue awning entrance to be received by our Pathfinders. If you know of a family in the area who needs food for Thanksgiving, you may call the office at 269-471-6565. Please provide their full name and complete home address when you call. Thank you for your generosity.

Thank You!

Thank you for the prayers, visits, and food brought to our home during Hazel's declining health. Our hearts were touched by the love, friendship and compassion demonstrated by our Church family.
