He preaches on the “New Perceptions” telecast, teaches at the theological seminary and has written some books, including The Chosen. Pioneer Operating Budget
We live in an age where some people may desire to be an “influencer.” An “influencer” is defined as “one who exerts influence: a person who inspires or guides the actions of others.”5 I recognize that I have been influenced to buy or desire things. For example, years ago in high school, there was a certain brand of shoes that all of the best runners wore, so I bought that brand of shoes. We all have the capacity to be influenced. A different way to look at the benefit of being an “influencer” is to ask, how can I influence the world around me for God? Jesus says in John 13:35, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (NIV). Our love can be shown in many different ways. It can be displayed in asking another church member how they are doing, and offering to help with anything they are struggling with if you are able to. Love can be shown in kind words and serving one another in ministry. Today’s offering is being collected for our local church budget. As you consider how you can love and influence the world around you, also consider your giving as an extension of that.

Hymnfest / Organ Recital September 21
We will explore together John Nevins Andrews' sentence, known as the "J. N. Andrews Benediction", "And now, as we set forth, we commit ourselves..." Andrews, the first official Seventh-day Adventist missionary and namesake of Andrews University, started his mission journey to Europe on Sept. 15, 1874. This event is part of the sesquicentennial celebration of Andrews University's start as Battle Creek College, with classes starting in August, 1874.
The hour-long exploration will use Andrews' sentence as the basis for dynamic and meditative reflection and response through words, congregational singing, and organ solos. Kenneth Logan and Jonathan Burt will lead. PMC Sanctuary, Sept. 21 at 5:15 PM
Andrews University Homecoming Weekend
Andrews University’s Alumni Homecoming Weekend is coming soon! A full weekend of activities will take place Sept. 26–29, 2024. Our traditional Friday events like the golf tournament and classic car show will return, but we hope you also enjoy several special features taking place this year in celebration of our 150th anniversary! These include the release of Meredith Jones Gray’s second volume on Andrews University’s history, “Forward in Faith,” as well as a “150 years of history” walk-through museum in Johnson Gym. Enjoy a variety of open houses and museums on Sabbath afternoon, then attend Saturday night’s supper for alumni, which returns with a “twist” in Johnson Gym.
