John 20:16-18 - "I was just resurrected, Mary - I haven't even gone to see my Father yet - I wanted first to dry your tears."
But didn't Jesus on Good Friday promise the repentant thief, "I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:41)?
- But Jesus taught that death is a sleep.
- And Jesus told Mary on Sunday he had not been to see His Father in paradise yet.
- Therefore, the Greek (which has no commas) really reads: "I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise."

The most psychologically satisfying, the most philosophically logical, the most emotionally reassuring truth about death is what Jesus taught: Death is a sleep.
- The concept of an "immortal soul" came from the ancient Greek philosophers, not the Holy Scriptures!
- Over 1700 times, the word "soul" appears in Scripture, and not once is "immortal" ever attached to it.
- 1 Timothy 6:16 - "God alone has immortality."
But good news: Because of Jesus, death is a sleep from which you can be _____________!
